Founder of PMK, S Ramadoss, in a statement, said that Chennai Anna University was one of the famous universities in the world.
“The convocation should have been conducted in November or December in 2016. Though the higher education department’s decision to conduct the convocation day with some good intention is a welcoming move, the officials should provide valid certificates, which otherwise will spoil the future of students,” he said.
Stating that the University had announced that the governor would be present at the convocation and secretary of higher education department would sign in the certificates, Ramadoss said, “There are chances for rejection of the certificates, when students apply for higher studies and want to study in other countries.”
So, the government should ensure the validity of certificates before holding the convocation, he stressed.
Most importantly, a total of 1,500 persons would get the doctorate degree in the university.
“In such a situation, these certificates should have only VC’s signatures and other officials are not supposed to make signatures on the certificates,” he said and demanded the Governor to appoint the VC and postpone the convocation day.
