MAD Peravai becomes  AIADMK (Deepa)
The fledgling MGR, Amma, Deepa (MAD) Peravai is all set to become a political party and the motive behind the decision is to retrieve the AIADMK’s ‘Two Leaves’ symbol. Announcing this, former minister and Peravai high level committee member K Pandurangan, said, “The new political outfit would be called AIADMK (Deepa). A decision to this effect was taken by a 10-member high level committee.”  Explaining the reason for the decision, Pandurangan said, “We were told by the officials that unless the Peravai was converted into a political outfit and registered under the Societies Act, the organisation cannot involve in any political activity. Our application for registration has been returned with queries. So, we proposed to convert it into a political party.”
