Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy launched the online facility along with a slew of projects worth Rs 38 crore, a statement from the Secretariat said.

The software, which was developed at a cost of Rs 2.6 crore, is expected to ease the paper-work plaguing the plan approval process. With the new software, the public could obtain approval for land layout, building plan layout and reclassification of the land pertaining to its use, through the DTCP website www. tn.gov.in/tcp.

All the required forms for the plan approval can be downloaded and can be submitted to the respective sub-ordinate offices of the DTCP without visiting in person. A reference number will be provided for every application uploaded on the site for the public to track the status of their application. The site also allows the users to download copies of site inspection orders, plan approval order, and approved plan.

“The users will receive text message (SMS) updates on spot inspection, advices regarding submission of additional details, dates of meeting with officials in person for required explanations, payment of prescribed fee and approval orders, after successfully uploading their application,” the release said.
