Foreign currencies worth Rs 1.04 crore seized in Kovai
Foreign currencies to the tune of Rs 1.04 crore were seized from two persons, who were trying to smuggle it to Hong Kong, at the Coimbatore airport on Saturday.

The action was initiated by sleuths from the DRI, Coimbatore Unit. In the early hours on Saturday, two men, Rahul Malik and Rakesh Kumar, who were about to board a Singapore flight the Coimbatore airport were intercepted by the DRI personnel on suspicion.
On checking them, sleuths found USD 1.35 lakh and Pounds 25,000. The currencies were seized and the duo was arrested.
