Act on Sampath for underrating Jayalalithaa: OPS camp

Once again, the AIADMK(Amma) spokesperson Nanjil Sampath has embarrassed the faction he represents and the rival AIADMK(PTA) leaders have lost no time in demanding Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy to take action against him.

In a recent interview to a TV channel, Nanjil Sampath stated that late chief minister J Jayalalithaa did not know much about governance, as she had entrusted the state with O Panneerselvam, the then finance minister.

Reacting strongly to the statement, OPS group spokesperson and former minister KP Munusamy urged the Chief Minister to take action against Sampath.

OPS faction’s senior functionary and MP Dr V Maitreyan said, “If Chief Minister Palanisamy was loyal to Jayalalithaa, he should ensure that action is taken against Sampath.” “It does not bode well for the party when a senior member of a faction underrates the former party supremo Jayalalithaa, the one person, who ensured the growth of the party,” said a former MLA, on condition of anonymity.

At a time, when the supporters of Palanisamy were still coming to terms with Sampath’s earlier statement of swearing allegiance to jailed deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran, his recent statement has created enough resentment among partymen. In fact, he had told DTNext that he was a “true AIADMK cadre who would support only VK Sasikala and TTV Dinakaran and that all his outspoken words were from his heart.”
