Remain patient till war comes: Rajini's 'political' message to fans

Apparently preparing himself to take the proverbial plunge into politics, Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth sent out a cheerful  message to his fans, saying "we will see when the war comes. Till then let us remain patient".

Rajini's comments seems to be in sync with his fans high expectations that he should enter politics.

But he keeps his fans guessing without making it clear whether he meant elections as war. 

Addressing his fans before posing for photos with them on the last day of the five-day district-wise photo session, the actor started by saying that whatever he say about politics has become a matter of debate.

"I did not expect that my political comments creates a controversy", he said.

Observing that one could not grow without opposition, more so in politics, where there would definitely be opposition, he said "Opposition is the capital investment in politics".

"Tamils have given this life to me. Should not I come to politics to ensure that they also lead a happy and decent life", he asked. 

"When I say this, people are asking whether no other person is there", he said, adding there were good politicians like M K Stalin (DMK Working President), who is an able administrator and if given a free hand, would perform well.

Rajnikanth also said "Dr Anbumani Ramadoss (Lok Sabha MP and PMK Youth Wing leader) was well educated and fighting for the rights of people and had toured various parts of the world. Thirumavalavan (VCK leader) used to fight for the rights of dalits and actor-director Seeman is a fighter, whose speeches had made me awe struck".

"But the political system in Tamil Nadu is not good. Democracy is gone", Rajinikanth said and added that there was need for a change to set things right.

"For that to happen there has to be a change in people's mindset. Political change in Tamil Nadu will happen only if everyone come together", Rajinikanth said.

Noting that he saw the criticisms against him as fertiliser for a plant and the soil in which seeds were sown, the actor said "those speaking against us are rather helping us to grow."

"I have personal work, duties and responsibilities. You (fans) also have your work, family and responsibilities to look after", he said. 

Recalling how Kings and their people in ancient days prepare for a war while doing their daily routine and came together when war comes, Rajinikanth said "similarly we have to do our routine work and get ready when there is war."

"We will see when the war (apparently meaning elections!) comes. Till then let us remain patient...God is there", Rajinikanth said.

He said he was pained to see that his remarks made in the midst of his fans were being criticised in social media in a demeaning way and "a question arises whether I am a Tamilian".

He said he lived in Karnataka only for 23 years. "But for the last 44 years I am living in Tamil Nadu...I am living with you (fans) with your support."

"It was you who gave me the name, fame and money and made me a Tamilian", he added.

Asserting that he was a true Tamilian, Rajinikanth said "if you ask me to go out of Tamil Nadu or if you throw me out, I will only fall in Himalayas and not in any other state".
