Informing that the work on distributing such cards to the remaining consumers was in progress, the minister said that 1.37 crore of the total 1.90 crore consumers had already provided full Aadhar details to their respective fair price shops for integration in smart cards. Another 51.59 lakh consumers had provided only partial details for the purpose, he conveyed. But another 1.96 lakh consumers were yet to provide any detail, the minister added.
Kamaraj instructed the officials to expedite the computerisation of the PDS (Public Distribution System) so that the G2G MIS and TNPDS websites were made consumer-friendly totally and paving way for the early issuance of smart cards to all consumers throughout the state.
He also said that if consumers wanted to carry out correction in their smart cards, they could do so either through their mobile apps or through the tnpds.gov.in website or by approaching the offices of assistant commissioners/taluk supply officers. The corrected smart cards would be provided through the state government’s e-seva centres, he noted.
