Kodanad murder case accused Sayan hospitalised again
Less than a day after the prime accused in the sensational Kodanad Estate murder and dacoity case KV Sayan was discharged from the hospital, on Tuesday, and arrested by The Nilgiris District police, he had to be hospitalised again.

Shortly after midnight, the same night after arrest, he suffered pain in the left hand, which was operated for multiple fractures. Sources said that he would be fine in a couple of days and was taken back to prison.
Sayan, who suffered poly trauma in an accident that claimed the lives of his wife and daughter at Kannadi in Palakkad district on April 29 underwent multiple surgeries in a private hospital in the city and was later treated at the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH). He suffered multiple fractures in the left hand and underwent surgeries.
The K-wire that was used to fix the bones in the hand was removed on Monday as he was getting prepared for discharge. After he was discharged on Tuesday he was taken to Kodanad Estate and to the Kotagiri Police Station for inquiry and produced before the Kotagiri Judicial Magistrate.
The Superintendent of Police of The Nilgiris Murali Rambha said he extended full cooperation for the investigation at the scene of crime at Kodanad Estate on Tuesday.
“On the direction of the court we escorted him to the Coimbatore Central Prison (CCP) where he had to be remanded under judicial custody till June 20,” he said.
The police said that the accused was taken to the prison here late on Tuesday night and in a short time he complained of pain and his left hand was swollen. He was taken to the prison hospital before he was referred to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital, where he was admitted in the convict ward amidst security.
It is suspected that he suffered pain due to exertion during the inquiry on the day of discharge from the hospital. Hospital sources said that it was not a major issue and he would be monitored and treated by experts.
