Man dies after falling through lift hole in hotel

The victim identified as Srinivasan from Virudhunagar had come to Madurai on Friday to spend the weekend with his friend Kalidas of Jaihindpuram. 

On Saturday morning, he left the hotel room on the sixth floor to meet his friend. Srinivasan came to take the lift to reach the ground floor, but it was on the seventh floor and he was not aware that it was an old model elevator with a manual opening door. Without noticing that the lift was on the seventh floor he had opened the door and had stepped inside. Srinivasan through the lift hole and had died on the spot.

As the lift was in a corner, security guards noticed Srinivasan’s body a little late. On information, Thideernagar police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to GH for post-mortem.
