Ruling party acting like puppets of BJP: Kanimozhi

Talking to media persons at the city airport, Kanimozhi said that it was now obvious that the ruling AIADMK did not function independently and it worked only at the behest of the BJP regime at the Centre. 

Reacting to another query, the DMK Rajya Sabha MP said that her step brother and party working president M K Stalin was the next competent person to rule the state after Karunanidhi and late J Jayalalithaa. Kanimozhi was only the latest to hit out at the functioning of the various AIADMK factions, mainly the one led by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy after the ruling dispensation kept conspicuously silent on various crucial issues like cow slaughter amendment and imposition of NEET. 

The DMK has moved a private members bill in the House demanding a legislation to insulate the state from the amendment brought by the Narendra Modi regime to regulate sale of cow for slaughter. 

Though the DMK-led Opposition has been demanding Palanisamy to enact a legislation on the lines of the one enacted by the Kerala Assembly on beef row, the ruling AIADMK remained calm on the issue with the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues even showing hesitance to comment on it.
