‘Make MGR’s birth centenary a historical event’

The first meeting in the series of functions planned in all the 32 districts will take place on June 30 in Madurai. State Ministers conducted a discussion on the modalities of the celebration with the cadre and the officials at the Madurai Collectorate.  Forest Minister Dindigul Srinivasan said that both MGR and late chief minister J Jayalalithaa had a soft corner for Madurai. Appreciating the Collector K Veera Raghava Rao for planning the function effectively, the Minister informed that the officials have planned to distribute welfare assistance to nearly 54,000 people at the celebrations. School Education Minister KA Sengottaiyan urged the cadre to make it a historical event.
