He also accused Vaigai Selvan of misbehaving with women and cited that as the reason for late chief minister Jayalalithaa removing him from the ministerial post.

Referring to Selvan’s comment on him, that he started his political career by pasting cinema posters, the Minister said, “I am from a poor farming family and will proudly say that I pasted AIADMK posters all over Virudhunagar. But does Selvan hail from a mirasdar’s family? Why was he removed from his ministerial post? He was removed because he tried to misbehave with women.”

Reacting to Balaji’s remarks, Vaigai Selvan said, “Rajenthira Balaji is unfit to be in politics or to be a Minister. He is a half-baked individual and I do not want to lower myself by reacting to his unsavoury comments.”

Meanwhile, SA Ponnusamy, president of the TN Milk Vendors and Employees Welfare Association, reacting to the Minister’s statement, said, “He is talking without facts. To hide his inability to prove adulteration in milk, he has turned to adulteration in milk powder. If he is right about the contamination, why is he saying that he cannot act against the erring frms?”

He also pointed out that the Minister had stated wrong statistics and lashed him for not being aware of what was happening in Aavin. “Of the 1.92 crore litres of milk available daily in the market, Aavin procures only 33 lakh litres a day and not as he had stated,” Ponnusamy clarified.
