Farmers seek Stalin’s support for agitation
Leaders of various farmers’ associations met DMK working president MK Stalin and sought his party’s support for the week-long agitation they have proposed to hold at all district headquarters from August 10.

Led by former DMK Rajya Sabha MP and president of Iyarkkai Neervala Padukappu Iyakkam (Movement for protection of natural water resources) KP Ramalingam, the farmers’ associations comprising the ryots wing of the CPM and CPI asked Stalin to support their agitation next month, as he has been doing on various farmers’ issues thus far. The delegation also submitted a copy of resolutions it had adopted at a joint meeting recently, to Stalin.
The farmers have also resolved to muster the support of all political parties for Neduvasal demonstration against the controversial ONGC project in the state.
