PG medical admissions: Directive to UT colleges

The first bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M. Sundar, before which a PIL filed by Advocate, VBR Menon came up, ordered notice to the seven medical colleges as well as Director General of Health Services, New Delhi, Convenor, CENTAC, Secretary to UT Government, Health and Family Welfare Services Department and Secretary to LG posted the case for further hearing to July 24. 

The petitioner had sought to declare the admissions made by the seven colleges for 2017-18 as null and void as it had been in contravention of the PG Medical Education Regulations 2000 and the SC order dated May 4, 2017. He said that contrary to rules the actual lists of students admitted by the colleges show that they had admitted those with lower NEET score as well as those who have not undergone common counselling instead of students who have been issued provisional admissions by CENTAC on May 31, 2017.
