Speaking to DTNEXT on the sidelines of an event, the veteran actor said, “This is not the right place to talk about it (his political entry). We will have a press meet pertaining to this soon.”
However, a source close to the actor told this newspaper that Kamal might not float a new party, instead might join one soon. The actor also met his fan club members and advocates a few days ago, increasing speculation over his entry into politics.
When asked if he had discussed with them about entering politics, the source said, “It was just a normal meeting which he conducts on an annual basis.
With the advocates, he discussed a few cases that were reportedly filed against him.” Earlier, on Wednesday, Kamal had urged the people of Tamil Nadu to send complaints against corruption in the state digitally to the respective ministers through social media.
The controversy involving the actor-producer gathered steam after he accused the state government of corruption to which several senior ministers responded by demanding him to show proof or face the music.
DMK Working President MK Stalin, rebel AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam and several other political leaders openly expressed their support for Kamal Haasan on the issue.
