Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a convocation ceremony held here, Anbalagan said, “There is a proposal from the Centre to conduct a national-level entrance test for Engineering admissions too. But we have already expressed our opposition, and have told the Centre that in TN, we admit students for engineering seats based on marks scored in Plus Two examinations and we want to continue the same,” he said, but added, “If there is a national-level consensus on a common entrance exam and all other states support the change, it is difficult for us to come out of it alone.”
