Talking to media persons here, Narayanasamy said that 85 per cent of the students have been studying in the state board syllabus and hence in the lines with Tamil Nadu, reservation should be granted to them. NEET has affected the students from government schools and those from rural areas the most, he added.
The Chief Minister charged that the Centre was usurping the right of states in education and reminded that education was a state subject.
Referring to the recent controversy of depicting Lt Governor Kiran Bedi as Adolf Hitler, Narayanasamy declared that he had called the party leaders and asked them to refrain from criticising the Lt Governor. The CM greeted Ram Nath Kovind on his election as the 14th President of India and added that he had worked with Kovind in the Rajya Sabha for five years.
Narayanasamy hoped that Kovind would uphold the great traditions of the Office of President as laid down by the Constitution.
