The revenue officials, who rushed to the spot, found that it was an ancient food grain storage. It is said, a farmer Muthusamy from Poigaipatti near Manapparai in Tiruchy has an agricultural land at Anaikulam. A couple of days ago, Muthusamy noticed a hole in the land which gradually had increased.

On Monday, the spot had caved in such a way that one person could climb down. He called the neighbouring farmers, who had noticed that there was a room like structure underneath. Subsequently, they thought for a storage of treasure and soon the information spread like wild fire and the villagers had kept on visiting the spot and witnessing the structure.

Meanwhile, on information, the Manapparai Tahsildhar Rajendran rushed to the spot along with the other revenue officials and found that it was an ancient food grain storage and declared that there was no treasure inside it. The officials also brought poclain machine and started clearing the spot.

Meanwhile, the villagers claimed that there were two similar structures found earlier in the same village. Since this is the third such structure unearthed, the villagers claimed that it could be an ancient township or some prominent spot in the previous era. They urged the government to conduct a study by the archaeological  department.
