The facility, which is to be set up at a cost of Rs 21.7 lakh, will be funded from the Public Welfare fund of Tamil Nadu State Cooperative Apex Bank. “Marina beach which houses the memorials of former CMs CN Annadurai, MGR and Jayalalithaa draws lakhs of citizens. Therefore, we have proposed to set up an RO water plant in the memorial to quench the thirst of visitors.

We are studying the proposed sites on which one will make it most accessible to the public. The inputs from the PWD, Information and Public Relations Department were received and necessary piece of advice on finalising the site had been provided,” the Minister said while inspecting the site.
