The protesters, led by BSP district president Parthiban, had organised the protest to condemn the Central government, operated by the RSS. Protesters alleged that the attack on minorities, Dalits and other oppressed sectors has drastically gone up since the BJP came to power three years ago. They also raised slogans demanding ban on RSS, holding the organisation responsible for fuelling violence across the country.
They said that persons from that outfit were behind humiliating Dalits by indulging in acts such as parading them naked on the streets and lynching those who carried meat. The police said that the arrest of the persons was a preventive measure and that they would be released in the evening.
