BJP MP’s courtesy call on Rajini rekindles rumour mills on his political entry

According to party leaders, the Maharashtra MP met the actor at his residence at Poes Garden at around 8.30 pm on Sunday and talks lasted till 9 pm.

 Briefing the media on Monday, Poonam Mahajan said that “Rajinikanth is living in everyone’s heart and he is the leader of the people in the state. People have total respect for him and I too respect him.” Later, the national youth wing leader posted her pictures with the actor and his wife Latha Rajinikanth on her Twitter handle, which said “One of the most humble couples I have ever met Lathaji and Thalaiva @superstarrajini ji.”

Meanwhile, talks are doing the rounds that BJP national president Amit Shah, who is scheduled to arrive here for a three-day visit from August 22 might also have a meeting with Rajinikanth.

“Chances remain high for our leader to meet Rajinikanth and there will be a big political development in the state after the meeting,” said a BJP leader from here. When the actor’s close aides were asked about the rumours of a big announcement in August, they categorically ruled out any chance of him making a significant announcement in August. “Rajini sir is committed to finishing filming Kaala , and he will only make his decision known after September,” said the source.
