Speaking to reporters here, Dinakaran recalled that the EC had frozen the AIADMK name and its ‘Two Leaves’ symbol after cancelling the RK Nagar by-poll.

“They (EPS faction) have used the AIADMK letterhead in the order of my expulsion. This amounted to forgery and cheating and would even lead to EPS and his ministers losing their posts,” he warned.

“Those who oppose me now had campaigned for me in the RK Nagar by-election,” Dinakaran said.

“When Sasikala’s appointment of Dindigul C Sreenivasan as Treasurer of AIADMK (Amma) was valid, how could my appointment as deputy general secretary alone become invalid,” he wondered.

He also charged that people running the government were spreading rumours that the party was not in the control of the general secretary. “They were doing this out of fear of losing power and I will do everything possible to develop the party and revive AIADMK,” Dinakaran said.

He also said that those in power had many things to hide and were avoiding him, creating confusion among the party cadre and added that he had the responsibility of leading 1.5 crore AIADMK cadre and work for the party’s victory in the next Lok Sabha elections. At this juncture, he did not want to take any hasty decision that would jeopardise the future of the party.
