AIADMK groups in Pondy come together

The function to merge the factions was held at the office of the former AIADMK legislator Om Sakthi Sekhar at Nellithoppe here. AIADMK state secretary Purushothaman honoured Panneerselvam group leader Om Sakthi Sekhar with a shawl and Sekhar, in turn, honoured Purushothaman to effect the merger of the groups. Many of the party functionaries attended the function. 

It may be noted that the four legislators led by legislature party leader A Anbazhagan met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami in Chennai on Monday and extended support to the merger of the groups. 

Later, Sekhar told news persons that the groups had merged in Puducherry as well as in Tamil Nadu and would function unitedly hereafter, particularly for the next Parliament and Assembly elections. He called those accepting the leadership of OPS as real AIADMK cadre.
