Two TN Trains to Punjab, Haryana cancelled over Dera unrest

Southern Railway (SR) has cancelled two express trains bound to Punjab and Haryana, owing to the prevailing law and order situation there. Chennai Central – Sri Vaishno Devi Katra Express (rain no: 16031), scheduled to start from Central on August 27 has been cancelled.

Likewise, Sri Vaishno Devi Katra – Kanniyakumari/Tirunelveli Express (train no: 16318/16788), scheduled to leave Sri Vaishno Devi Katra on August 28 have been fully cancelled due to cancellation of the pairing train.

Due to floods in north frontier railway and disruption of services, train no: 12515 scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 12 40 hrs. on August 27 and September 8, train no 15629 scheduled to leave Tambaram at 9 45pm on August 28, train no 15905 scheduled to leave Kanniyakumari at 11pm on August 31, train no 12510 scheduled to leave Guwahati at 6 20am on August 28 and 29, train no 12504 scheduled to leave Kamakhya at 8 10pm on August 29, train no 12516 scheduled to leave Guwahati at 6 20am on August 30 and train no 12552 scheduled to leave Kamakhya at 2pm on August 30 have been cancelled.

Special fare trains to Howrah, Ernakulam

SR has also announced a special fare, superfast special train (no: 06515) from Thiruvananthapuram to Howrah on August 27 to clear extra rush of traffic. The train would start from Trivandrum at 12.40hrs on August 27, reach Chennai Central at 6 05am on August 28 and start from here at 6 30am on August 28. The train will reach Howrah at 10 am on August 29.

Similarly, special fare train no: 06098 will leave Kochuveli at 7pm on September 4 and reach Chennai Central at 11.30am the next day.
