Battle for justice has begun: Salem secretaries
Stating that the ‘real battle for justice’ has just begun, former MLAs SK Selvam and SC Venkatachalam, who were appointed as the party’s district secretaries for the Salem Rural and City districts respectively on Sunday, said that more sitting MLAs will switch loyalty to TTV Dinakaran and VK Sasikala.

They also challenged the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to denounce the CM’s post given to him by Sasikala and compete for the position.
On Sunday, Dinakaran appointed Selvam as the party’s Salem rural district secretary in the place of CM EPS and SC Venkatachalam in the place of sitting MLA and Salem urban district secretary C Venkatachalam.
It is worth mentioning that the two former MLAs were also former AIADMK district secretaries in Salem and were noted leaders in the OPS led AIADMK (PTA) faction.
“We thank Sasikala and Dinakaran for appointing us as the district secretaries,” the duo said in a combined press meet at the residence of Selvam before they lashed out at the CM and his predecessor.
They had expressed confidence that more sitting MLAs, including Mettur MLA Semmalai, who earlier joined the OPS faction, would come to the Dinakaran camp. They alleged that Panneerselvam betrayed his loyalists and joined hands with Palaniswami for monetary gains.
They alleged that EPS had backstabbed many senior leaders, including minister KA Sengottaiyan and former minister S Muthusamy, to climb ranks in the party.
At this juncture, they added latest in this list is Sasikala. They said that no MLA would vote for EPS without the support from Sasikala.
There was mixed response at Salem to Dinakaran’s announcement on Sunday as a section of them jumped into celebration and few others angry over the move.
