CM Edappadi K Palani inaugurates labour welfare office complex
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurated a Rs 2.20 crore integrated office complex for the Virudunagar labour welfare department wing through video conferencing from the secretariat on Friday, an official release said.

The complex has facilities to provide all help to the unorganised sector to register such workers into various boards to provide them with social security and government benefits, ensuring justice for the public through proper enforcement of the weights and measures rules in addition to providing legal help to those in need, the release added.
At the same function at the secretariat, the Chief Minister also handed over job orders to 38 newly appointed drivers, including two women.
Similarly, former collectors who did yeoman service in eradicating child labour were honoured with shields and certificates. The recipients included former Tiruchy collector Jayashree Muralidharan, former Vellore collector Dr R Nandagopal and former Sivaganga collector Malarvizhi.
Those who were present at the function included dairy minister KT Rajenthra Bhalaji, labour minister Nilofer Kafeel, chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan, labour secretary Mangath Ram Sharma and labour commissioner K Balachandran, the release said.
