Describing the suspension of medical admission in CMC as ‘painful’, Stalin asked the Centre to take steps to bring education from concurrent to state list to help Tamil Nadu students secure admission in government medical colleges and CMC, which serves the poor.

Stating that it was unfortunate that NEET was responsible for stalling admission in CMC which has been helping poor students, the Leader of Opposition said that the college showcased its opposition to the new system by refusing to fill seats based on NEET.

This CMC decision, Stalin said, would harm rural Tamil Nadu students as nearly 160 seats were cancelled while parents were struggling to secure admission for their children.

Defining the silence of “benami government of Palaniswami” as ‘shameless’, Stalin said, “The BJP regime should realise that giving permanent exemption to Tamil Nadu from NEET would be the only solution to the state’s students.” He also said that the Centre should make an ordinance to scrap the system immediately.
