Government teachers, employees arrested
About 1,300 members of JACTTO-GEO were arrested for staging a demonstration in front District Collector's office here demanding to implement their charter of demands, including the 7th Pay commission recommendations.

The memebrs of the Joint Action Committee of Tamil Nadu Teachers' Organisations-Government Employees’ Organisations (JACTTO-GEO) raised slogans in support of their demands.
They also demanded repeal of the new contributory pension scheme, implementation of recommendations of Seventh Pay Commission for State government employees and a monthly payment of 20 per cent of the incremental basic and grade pay as interim relief till implementation of the pay commission recommendations.
Defying the interim stay for strike as directed by Madura High Court, the employees squatted on the road, blocking vehicular movement. All of them were arrested, police said.
Meanwhile, an Erode report said attendance in the government offices were thin due to the strike.
