CM Narayanasamy visit streets in Puducherry

After Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi, it was the turn of Chief Minister V Narayanasamy to visit the streets in the town late in the night to find out the conditions.

Some time back, Ms Bedi visited several areas in the town late in the night on the pillion of a two-wheeler along with the comptroller of Raj Nivas to find out the safety and security to women.

The Chief Minister left his house around 21:00 hours on a two-wheeler accompanied by Education Minister Kamalakannan and officials and visited several areas in the town and sub-urban to find out the fact about the complaints that street lights are not working.

Moving around, the Chief Minister covered the areas of 12 Assemby Constituencies before winding up his visit around midnight last night.

Later, he told newspersons that there was a complaint that the street lights in the town and rural areas are not working and to find out the fact he had undertaken the visit during night hours. It was found that 80 percent of the street lights are functioning, he said, adding that he had covered areas of 12 constituencies.The 20 percent is pending following dispute whether it is to be set right by the Electricity Department or the PWD and were asked to jointly rectify the fault, he said.

The Chief Minister also said in the next phase, he would visit Mannadipet, Nettapakkam and Ariyankuppam areas.
