17 DSPs, ADSPs to assist Manickavel in Idol case probe
Nearly a week after the state government issued orders making Ponn Manickavel, Inspector General of Police, Railways, to hold additional charge of the Idol Wing, DGP T K Rajendran on Friday issued orders to 17 Deputy Superintendents and Additional Superintendents to assist him in the investigation of pending idol theft cases.

Ashok Kumar, ADSP, from Police Recruits School in Coimbatore, V Balakrishnan, ADSP from Tamil Nadu Police Academy in Chennai, A Elango, ADSP from Coastal Security Group in Ramanathapuram, P Loganathan, ADSP from Prohibition Enforcement Wing in Krishnagiri, P Ravi, ADSP from CPIU in Chennai, D Kumar, ADSP from Headquarters in Ariyalur, K Jose Thangaiah from Headquarters in Villupuram, S Venkatraman, DSP frin Anti-Land Grabbing Special Cell in Nagapattinam, P Ashok Natarajan, DSP from EOW-II, Headquarters in Chennai. Among them, H Ramesh Babu, DSP, who is currently serving in Modern Control Room in Chennai, has been part of the Idol Wing in 1999-2000.
