Thambidurai bats for patch-up with Sasi’s family
Just a few weeks after a General Council meeting convened by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s ruling AIADMK faction adopted a resolution to oust VK Sasikala’s family from the party, LS Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai joined the voices demanding a patch up with the loyalists of the family.

Speaking to the media in New Delhi, he said both Sasikala and her nephew TTV Dinakaran could join the party. His statement comes a few days after three MLAs of party allies who contested on the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol publicly declared their support for the family and wanted CM EPS to negotiate with the family loyalists and run the government. Thambidurai’s remarks comes a week ahead of the hearing in the MHC on demands to cancel disqualification of 18 MLAs backing Dinakaran and holding a floor test.
When asked about the remarks of Thambidurai, said only time could say whether Sasikala and Dinakaran would enter the party or not. So far, there is no counter to such statements coming out from senior leaders like Thambidurai, allies or party MLAs. Even privately, the supporters of deputy CM OPS, who joined the party on conditions of ousting Sasikala’s family, did not want to counter the views for bringing back Dinakaran, saying that it would add to the existing confusion and divisions.
However, they asserted that Palaniswami together with Panneerselvam would ensure that Sasikala’s family, did not get control over the party again.
