Two die of suspected dengue in central districts

Two women died due to suspected dengue symptoms in Nagapattinam and Karur districts on Monday.

It is said, N Krishnaveni (30) of Kaliyappanalloor village of Nagapattinam district had a high fever since September 25 and was rushed to Porayar GH and later, she was referred to Karaikal GH for further treatment. However, she died despite treatment on Monday. 

Meanwhile, the health officials refused about the dengue symptoms but the residents claimed that this is the third death within two months in the taluk. But, health and family welfare department officials are not accepting these deaths as dengue related and calling this as mysterious fever death. 

In the meantime, in Karur, G Dhanalakshmi (48) of Vennaimalai in Karur who had high fever for the past two days died to a private hospital in Coimbatore. It is said, Dhanalakshmi was initially admitted at a private hospital in Karur from where she was referred to a private hospital in Coimbatore on Sunday.
