Addressing the media, Ramakrishnan said the farmers are protesting at various parts of the country because of the anti-farmers policy of the Central government.

“Modi has been saying that there are no farmers protesting in the states ruled by BJP which is not true. But, the protestors are witnessed more in the BJP, ruling states. The Central government had failed to protect the farmers and because of the recent measures such as demonetisation and GST, more farmers are affected,” he said.

When asked about dengue outbreak in the state, Ramakrishnan said the government is hiding the issue completely. “People know that scores of people are getting admitted to every GH and a large number of people have also died due to dengue.” However, the state government is blatantly lying that none had died of dengue so far in the state this year. It should stop lying and start working to end thespread of dengue, he said.
