Why swift action was not taken for Jayalalithaa like Natarajan: BJP

Raising doubts over the organ transplantation to Sasikala’s husband M Natarajan from a 19-year-old of Aranthangi in Pudukkottai, BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan, here on Thursday, demanded relatives of Sasikala why they had not taken such a swift action when former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was undergoing treatment.

Speaking to reporters, Tamilisai said that there are a series of violations in the organ donation process for Natarajan, and that should be properly and transparently investigated immediately.

These kinds of violation would prevent the poor people who have been waiting for a long time for an organ donation. “The major doubt is that the family of the youth, who could not even afford a private ambulance, had enjoyed the luxury mode of transport. Who had paid for this,” she asked.

Meanwhile, she charged that the people who were very particular to use such facilities had failed to provide the facility to the former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa when she was under medical care.

“Why they had not shown at least the minimum interest. Whether she had such a requirement? It is so painfull that the information about her treatment was kept as a closely guarded secret,” Tamilisai asked.

Stating that the private hospitals have been functioning with a commercial motivation, Tamilisai charged that there are a series of charges levelled against the doctor who had recommended the transplantation, and this too should be elaborately investigated, she said.
