106.32 cents retrieved in Coimbatore

In a day long drive, special teams of civic body staff went around identifying reserved sites that were encroached upon in all the five zones of the Corporation limits. Based on the orders of Corporation Commissioner K Vijayakarthikeyan, the officials held special checks and retrieved vast tracks of encroached land on Saturday. 

About 35 cents of land was retrieved from Sri Dhanalakshmi Nagar and Vilangurichi, 17.65 cents from Bhavan Park, Park Site I and II (New Thillai Nagar extension) and Vadavalli, 10.67 cents from Raju Naidu layout and Veerakeralam areas. The civic body also retrieved 18 cents of public purpose land from Sri Sakthi Garden (Phase-II), Saravanampati and 25 cents from Elangovan Nagar (Phase I & II), Kurichi. 

Notices were also issued to owners, who had encroached upon 10.71 cents of public land in the Coimbatore Corporation limits.
