Tamilisai also urged that such scenes should be removed from the movie, as it will create wrong impression among the people. Speaking to DT Next, KT Raghavan, BJP state secretary, said that there was a factual error in the movie and that we should not compare the tax issue with Singapore. “As far as this movie is concerned, there are lots of errors on GST and digital India,” he said and opined that there was an ulterior motive behind it.
BJP’s TN Youth Wing leader SG Suryah tweeted ‘Singapore Population - 56 lakh. People paying Income Tax 40%. Indian Population - 125 crores. Income Tax paid by 4% population.’ In another tweet, he posted, ‘Like someone pointed in the movie, dialogue writers had easiest job. Many dialogues were stolen from social networking’s forwards. No fact check.’
Meanwhile, coming to the defense of actor Vijay, PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss said it was not proper to flay the actor for the scenes attacking corruption and taxation. In a statement here, Anbumani said the actor had only advocated free medical service and the censor board had allowed the film. It was surprising that Tamilisai was demanding that those scenes opposing their party should be removed. Scenes from films could be removed only if the sentiments of people were affected. He requested Tamilisai to raise her voice for Cauvery Management Board and ensure its formation.
