According to weathermen, there will be heavy rains in Northern parts of the state. Chennai will experience cloudy weather for the next two days.

Speaking to DT Next, a RMC official said, “After October 24, the wind pattern will change towards east, after which we can expect onset of monsoon. However, we are monitoring the wind patterns through satellite imagery and will announce the date of onset in the next few days.” The weatherman also confirmed that south-west monsoon might withdraw by October 24.

A city-based weather blogger also predicted the North-East monsoon by October 26 or 27. “After withdrawal of south-west monsoon, there will be rains across the state for next two days. Only then, a low-pressure might form after easterly winds start,” he said and added that the interior pockets have been receiving good rainfall in the past few days.
