When reserved passengers complained to the TTE, the latter reportedly stated that he was authorised to check only bona fide passengers which further infuriated them. When the train arrived at Katpadi station at 5 pm, passengers complained to railway police who immediately offloaded the intruders. But when the train started moving again, the intruders entered the reserved compartments again and picked up quarrels with bona fide passengers for complaining to the police.

In a fit of rage, the intruders threw out the baggage of some reserved passengers resulting in fisticuffs. The victims then tweeted the issue to railway officials, including the railway minister, before peace prevailed. Further investigation is under way.
