3 die of suspected dengue in south

Despite intense anti-dengue measures, three including a pregnant woman died of dengue in the southern districts, on Thursday.

Rani (21), who was fivemonths pregnant, from Melaanupanadi in Madurai, had died of suspected dengue at a private hospital in Madurai, on Thursday. When Rani developed high fever, she was admitted to a private hospital. But, as she was pregnant, she was not given any medication. Following that her health condition worsened and she died on Thursday. 

Similarly, in Thoothukudi district, Sridevi (8), a Class 3 student from Thenthiruperai village near Srivaikuntam, was suffering from high fever and was he was admitted at the Palayamkottai GH for treatment. However, she had died on Thursday. 

At Dindigul district, Sangeetha (13, a Class 8 student in Kamalapuram village near Nilakottai, who had been suffering from high fever died at the Dindigul GH, on Thursday. 

When she developed fever, she was initially treated at a nearby private hospital. As her health condition worsened she was rushed to the Dindigul GH but died at the GH without responding to treatment.
