Veeramani said a woman should not be degraded in the land of Dravidian movement’s founder EVR Periyar, who propagated women’s liberation. He also advised Tamilisai not to make comments in a brazen manner. The DK’s comments come amidst a war of words between her and the VCK, after the former attacked the Dalit leader vehemently. The BJP leader is also at the receiving end of vehement attacks from actor Vijay’s fans. The attacks and comments against her have been continuing despite the leader stating that the issue over the film Mersal had been closed. She had stopped her attacks against Thol Thirumavalavan too.

However, on Thursday, the PMK hit out at Tamilisai for posting message in the social media that Polio was eradicated during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime.

PMK leader, GK Mani, said, she had intentionally done it and noted that she had also mentioned as ‘conditions apply’ in the same post to escape any issue that can trigger in the future. “Since she is a doctor she knows the fact that polio was eradicated in March 2014, according to WHO. But, she is trying to take credit of PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss’s achievement,” he said.

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, Tamilisai hit out at AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi and DMK working president MK Stalin for misrepresenting GST among the public. On the observance of November 8 as ‘black day,’ “Yes, they should observe so, because poll verdict of Himachal Pradesh and 2G case will be announced on that day,” she said.
