VCK cadre hit by BJP in Mayavaram

It is said, Tamilisai was scheduled to attend the wedding function of youth wing state secretary Charanraj in Mayiladuthurai and she was proceeding from Tiruchy airport. When the car in which Tamilisai was travelling reached the main road near Mayiladuthurai GH, a group of VCK members led by party functionary Velu Kubendran attempted to show black flag to her. However, they were stopped by the police team led by Mayiladuthurai Inspector Radhakrishnan. 

Soon, a group of BJP cadre who were following the vehicle of Tamilisai, got down and started manhandling the VCK members, who were in police custody. Four VCK cadre sustained severe injuries. Police, who intervened, rescued the VCK cadre and rushed them to Mayiladuthurai GH. Meanwhile, police security was stepped up at the wedding venue, where Tamilisai was scheduled to attend in order to avert any untoward incidents. 

While speaking to reporters about the incident, Tamilisai said, the VCK cadre attacked the BJP members, who, in turn retaliated. She charged that a few people prevented them from taking Union government’s projects to the people. This should be changed, she added.
