Police said Amreesh, 23, Suresh, 35 and Sreenivasan, 50, all hailing from Hosur and working as bus drivers in a private school, had gone for a drink at a tasmac bar in Kasavakatta village on Saturday night. “At the bar, Vinayagam of Basthalapalli village, who is also a driver in the same school, joined them. All of a sudden, a quarrel broke out between them and three persons assaulted Vinayagam,” police said. Following this, Vinayagam left the spot vowing to revenge them.

“When Amreesh Suresh, and Sreenivasan were heading home on a two- wheeler later in the night, Vinayagam intercepted them at Bathalapalli village. He then attacked them with a sickle killing Amreesh on the spot, and injuring Suresh and Sreenivasan,” police said.  Police said the local villagers rescued the duo and rushed them to Hosur Government Hospital.

From there, Suresh was shifted to a private hospital in Bengaluru. However, he died without responding to treatment on Sunday.  On receiving information, the local police sent the body of Amreesh for post-mortem. Similarly, the body of Suresh was also brought to the GH for an autopsy. Police have registered a case and a search is on to nab Vinayagam, who is now on the run.
