A 30-member team will travel in the van equipped with machineries to attend to leaks in water pipelines. “They will plug the leaks, if any in the Siruvani and Pillur pipelines. This will ensure uninterrupted water supply to the public,” said District Collector TN Hariharan.
The Collector flagged off the vehicle in the presence of officials of the TWAD board. The members in the vehicle will also pitch in during emergency situations during monsoon in villages along the banks of rivers.
They will also involve in creating awareness among public on dengue and other monsoon- related illness, he added.
