TN CM Edappadi Palaniswami launches Highways Department website for differently-abled
Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday launched the revamped disabled-friendly website of state highways department.

The new website (http://www. tnghighways.gov.in) has been launched with provision to increase font size, which would help people with partial-visual impairment. The refurbished bi-lingual (Tamil and English) website also enables users to change the background colour. Remarkably, over 2,300 people have visited the site on the opening day.
The site also facilitates easy interaction between the people and highway officials, mainly the director general of highways who could be reached at dghgeneral@gmail.com.
Palaniswami who also holds the highways portfolio launched the website while distributing appointment orders to seven junior assistants. State chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan and principal secretary Rajiv Ranjan also took part in the function.
Of the sanctioned 550 junior assistant posts highway department, 89 junior vacancies were filled on compassionate grounds and elevation through Tamil Nadu public services commission.
