This follows the marathon raids at the premises belonging to VK Sasikala, jailed AIADMK leader and aide of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
He is the brother of Anuradha, who is married to Dinakaran, the side-lined AIADMK leader. “Dr Venkatesh was questioned for two hours on Thursday morning,” an I-T official said. The taxmen have been questioning members belonging to clan of Sasikala, after they raided in an attempt to unearth suspected shell companies owned by the family and benami transactions carried out by the members.
Till now, the I-T sleuths have questioned Jaya TV MD, Vivek Jayaraman, son of the late brother of Sasikala, his two sisters, the former PA of Jayalalithaa, Karnataka AIADMK (Amma faction) leader and senior executives of Jaya TV and Jazz Cinema, among others.
In the course of the raids, I-T officials had reportedly recovered documents showing financial transactions, that are believed to be unaccounted, to the tune of Rs 1,500 crore.
