“If the anti-people DMK wins, obviously the public can’t be in peace, instead, only the party’s family members can be in peace. People have very well realised this fact,” he added.
“People don’t have a high opinion of the DMK as a party and Stalin must talk only after knowing the mindset of the public. People are content with the AIADMK government,” he told reporters at Tiruchengode.
Later, participating in a function in Salem, the Minister expressed grief over the Income Tax raids on Veda Nilayam, which was held in high esteem by the party cadre. “The raids were conducted due to wrong doings of VK Sasikala and her family members,” he said and added, “Amma’s (Jayalalithaa) soul will definitely expose those who brought such a disgrace.”
Raju further said that the opposition parties are targeting the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami because he is approachable and he delivers the best governance. “They level constant allegations only to gain political mileage. People have confidence in the AIADMK and they will give us the required mandate in the civic and next Assembly elections,” he noted.
Stating that the MGR centenary celebrations have been a huge hit, the Minister said, in a veiled reference to TTV Dinakaran, “We are not bothered about what those separated from us keep saying.”
The Minister said that a total of Rs 5,318 crore of farm loans have been waived benefitting 12 lakh farmers. “This year, it has been decided to give Rs 7,000 crore crop loan and so far 3,066 crore has been given away,” he said.
