‘4 per cent vacancies in health department to be filled soon’
There were just four per cent vacancies in the health department and it would be filled soon, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said on Tuesday.

Speaking after handing over appointment orders to special doctors and others at a function organised by the Health Department here, he said the state government was providing healthcare as per WHO’s recommendations and were inching closer to fulfilling their required parameters. “In fact, as of now, no other State in India provides medical facilities like what our government does,” he said.
“Looking at the pace with which we are moving forward, a Japanese firm, JICA, has consented to invest Rs 1,634 crore for developing the hospitals in the state,” he added.
Boasting about the government’s recruitment process, the Chief Minister said “we are the first in India to form a special board for recruitment of doctors. Our unique Medical Recruitment Board (MRB) is accomplishing seamless recruitments.”
Health Minister Dr C Vijaya Baskar and state Health Secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan participated.
Palaniswami also gave appointment orders to 49 typists and seven stenographers on the occasion.
