65-year-old loses jewels to cheat at Kanchi GH
A 65-year-old was duped by a youth, with the promise of financial assistance from the government at the Kancheepuram Government Hospital on Tuesday.

The victim Nagammal of Panjipettai had come to the hospital to collect her free monthly medicine, when a well-dressed youth approached her.
Police said, that the accused had told her that she would not get the government’s financial assistance of Rs 5000 if she was seen wearing gold. The youth also asked the woman to keep the gold ornaments safely wrapped in a paper cover and directed her to meet the hospital dean. She went to the medicine counter and enquired about the hospital dean, where a hospital employee explained to her that there is no scheme of distributing Rs 5000 to poor people.
She narrated the incident, following which the employee became suspicious and asked her to check if her jewels are in the bag. When the jewels were found missing, a shocked Nagammal came to know that she was duped of her valuable worth Rs 50, 000 was stolen by the youth. She later lodged a complaint with the Vishnu Kanchi police.
