Referring to an interview of Dinakaran, who had asked how his family members could amass wealth using the government unless most of the ministers were the benamis of his family, Vetrivel warned Jayakumar not to attack Sasikala unnecessarily.

In an interview to a Tamil biweekly, he wondered why there are no raids on the residence Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who might have acted as the benamis. Countering Jayakumar’s views that some jackals had lived in lion’s den (Poes Garden), Vetrivel asked, “How can lions and jackals live in the same place? Has Jayakumar seen lions and jackals living together?

Referring to TTV’s statement that Jayalalithaa had left her friend as an orphan, Vetrivel said, “Anyone can say so when a head of the family suddenly dies leaving the family members in distress. It is not an accusation on Amma.” The leaders, including Jayakumar, would soon lose their power after the court verdict in the case on disqualification of 18 MLAs backing Dinakaran and he would also become a political orphan, he said.

Condemning the I-T raids, Manithaneya Jananayaga Katchi leader Thamimun Ansari said the BJP government at the Centre was trying to prevent the emergence of a strong leader for the AIADMK, so that they could have a control over governmental matters.
