2 submit fake documents to get bail; held in Thanjai

It is said, Jaffer Sadiq of Kalvikudi near Papanasam was arrested for stealing jewellery in Andakudi village in 2016. Though he had been trying to get bail for long, all his attempts had gone in vain. 

On Tuesday, Sabarlal of West Chinthamani and Santhi of Sangiliyandapuram, both from Tiruchy, approached the Papanasam court and submitted documents in support of Jaffer’s bail request. 

However, court officials were shocked to find that several documents, including the house tax receipt were fake. Veeramani, head clerk of the court, had filed a complaint with the Papanasam police.

Papanasam police inspector Murugesan who had registered a case, arrested Sabarlal and Santhi and lodged them in prison.
